About Me:
“Hello, my name is Sasha Brzostowski, and I am a nature photographer with a passion for capturing the intricate beauty of the natural world. Specializing in close-up nature shots, wildlife, and breathtaking landscapes, I find joy in revealing the details that often go unnoticed. My journey in photography has not only honed my skills but also deepened my appreciation for our planet’s diverse ecosystems. I’m excited to share my experiences and the stories behind my photographs, as they inspire my perspective on both art and nature.”
Why Photography?
My passion for photography began with my grandmother. She was always documenting family moments or capturing whatever caught her eye. As a child, I was endlessly curious about her camera, though I was far too young to be trusted with it. For one of my birthdays, she gifted me my own camera bag containing a small silver camera and a small vertical red compact video camera. From that moment on, they went everywhere with me. I photographed everything around me, learning early on that images could tell stories, preserve memories, and reflect how I see the world.
Why Nature?
I grew up surrounded by woods, where my siblings and I spent countless hours exploring. They would tell me stories about the wildlife around us —wild turkeys, foxes, bears, and deer — which filled me with curiosity, wonder, and excitement. That early connection to the natural world only deepened as I later attended an outdoor middle and high school. Learning extended far beyond the classroom; classes took place along forest trails and beside creeks, and the curriculum included lessons in environmental awareness and hands-on experience. We even cared for animals such as chickens, goats, and pigs. These experiences shaped not only my appreciation for nature, but also my desire to observe it closely and thoughtfully—an approach that lies at the heart of my photography.
